COP22 has been an «African COP» and a success for Morocco, the hosting country and undisputed leader for renewables in North Africa, to the point that Morocco has become an Association country of the International Energy Agency. Euro-Mediterranean cooperation has made considerable progress in Marrakech: a commitment to foster the integration between the Moroccan and the EU energy markets; the launch of a new platform concerning all the South Mediterranean countries, renewables and energy efficiency. The fight against climate change needs substantial financial resources, and important decisions have also been made in this direction.
