The paper presents the debate that preceded and has accompanied the Supreme Court decision Trump v. Anderson, concerning the possible ineligibility of Donald Trump for federal presidency following the Capitol Hill assault in January 2021. The case is an opportunity to analyse the relationship between federation and states in the definition of electoral rules for federal competitions.
