The Court of the Eurasian Economic Union is the judicial body of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the regional integration organisation established in 2015 by Belarus, Kazakhstan, and the Russian Federation and which nowadays includes also Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. The Court of the EAEU (hereinafter ‘the Court’) has the objective to ensure the uniform application of the EAEU law and its jurisdiction is twofold: on the one side, the Court decides disputes that are submitted by a Member States or by an economic subject; on the other, the Court gives advisory opinions upon request of the bodies of the EAEU and of the member States. Despite some initial criticism, the Court has obtained greater c consideration among all the subjects involved in the integration process, including economic actors both private and public. In fact, since its establishment, the Court has played a key role in shaping the development of the EAEU legal order and in establishing some fundamental principles such as the primacy of EAEU law and its direct effect. In particular, said principles have been established mainly through consultative jurisdiction.
