The English family of manuscripts of the Devisement dou monde Latin version P. · The Latin version made by Francesco Pipino O. P. spread Marco Polo’s Devisement dou monde throghout the Europe : the 68 manuscripts testify the great success of this peculiar form of the text during the Middle Ages. The present essay focuses on the most definable family of manuscripts, consisting of twenty witnesses, mostly produced in England : they share common errors and innovations and were read in specific contexts. Its main goal is to clarify the relation between the manuscripts on a stemmatic basis, in order to offer a solid overview of the text transmission and dissemination.
