This article presents a linguistic and content-related analysis of AL 745 R.2 De Vinalibus. The scommatic and occasion epigram written against a teetotal awful poet is set during the Vinalia, a celebration involving vine and wine. The attack is structured on the geographical opposition between East and West, the former identified by the Orontes, the latter by the couple Mincio-Tiber, called flumen Etruscum (v. 9).
