La perfezione della tecnica. La tecnica nel pensiero di estrema destra nella prima metà del ’900

The article analyzes the reflections of a large number of right-wing intellectuals (active between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century) concerning the question of technology, interpreted both in its relationship with the processes of democratization and massification, and with the philosophical issues concerning the macro-topic of nihilism. In particular, the article examines anti-modernist positions (Berdjaev, Bernanos, etc.), aimed at seeing technology as the expression of both relativism and disaggregation of socio-cultural values; the modernist ones, that see in technology a means for defending and exporting the values of the nation (Malaparte, Barrès, Sombart, etc.), and, finally, through authors such as Guardini, Schmitt, Jünger, and Heidegger, the article focuses on the vision of technology as a movement towards a new era of the world, that brings along new scales of values.
