RM, formerly known as Real Madrid, is an artist duo consisting of Bianca Benenti Oriol and Marco Pezzotta. Their work explores the semiotics of sexually transmissible diseases. This paper compares their work to art produced during the AIDS crisis in the U.S., notably that of Gonzales-Torres. RM distances themselves from activist aesthetics, instead representing the process of normalization and daily management of the disease in the contemporary age.
