Moisés Prieto’s latest study examines narratives of dictatorship in Europe and Latin America, between approximately 1789 and 1848–49. Prieto carefully considers the interpretations of dictatorial government delivered by conceptual history, political science and the history of political thought, but proposes to go beyond these explanations by exploring ‘the intrinsic intersection’ of the history of dictatorship with that of emotions.
