Character education, influenced by moral psychology and virtue ethics, is significantly growing in the field of applied ethics. This contribution focuses on two aspects: first, it distinguishes between human flourishing and flow; second, it evaluates how these concepts can support a theory of character education. While flow is an optimal psychological state that increases happiness, flourishing is a meaningful and autonomous activity that develops human potential. The Jubilee Center for Character and Virtues has created an educational model to promote flourishing in schools, integrating the concept of flourishing as an achievable goal.

Abstract
Character education, influenced by moral psychology and virtue ethics, is significantly growing in the field of applied ethics. This contribution focuses on two aspects: first, it distinguishes between human flourishing and flow; second, it evaluates how these concepts can support a theory of character education. While flow is an optimal psychological state that increases happiness, flourishing is a meaningful and autonomous activity that develops human potential. The Jubilee Center for Character and Virtues has created an educational model to promote flourishing in schools, integrating the concept of flourishing as an achievable goal.I documenti in ARCA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
