The relationship between Heidegger and Severino continues to be a topic harbinger of reflection, also capable of raising questions going far beyond the two authors. This article therefore aims to emphasise the relevance of their comparison to contemporary philosophical debate by dwelling on an eminently hermeneutic problem: Heidegger and Severino’s relationship to tradition, as reflected in their common regard to Parmenides (1). Severino’s return to Parmenides (2) is thus compared with Heidegger’s Wiederholung (3), highlighting the different role played in both cases by subjectivity. Recalling a late text by Heidegger on Parmenides, the article concludes by returning to the figure of the crossroads, taken as a philosophical category for rethinking the relationship with tradition (4).

Abstract
The relationship between Heidegger and Severino continues to be a topic harbinger of reflection, also capable of raising questions going far beyond the two authors. This article therefore aims to emphasise the relevance of their comparison to contemporary philosophical debate by dwelling on an eminently hermeneutic problem: Heidegger and Severino’s relationship to tradition, as reflected in their common regard to Parmenides (1). Severino’s return to Parmenides (2) is thus compared with Heidegger’s Wiederholung (3), highlighting the different role played in both cases by subjectivity. Recalling a late text by Heidegger on Parmenides, the article concludes by returning to the figure of the crossroads, taken as a philosophical category for rethinking the relationship with tradition (4).File | Dimensione | Formato | |
