The Expansion of Korean Language Education in Italy

This study aims to explore the proliferation of Korean language education across Italy. Recently, with a sharp increase in Italian interest towards Korean culture, there has been a notable rise in enrollments for Korean language courses at various educational institutions and universities. This trend is pivotal in broadening the scope of Korean language education and in fostering the growth and development of Korean Studies within the region. Consequently, this research provides a historical overview of the evolution of Korean Studies in Italy and assesses prevailing trends to ensure the continued expansion and viability of Korean language education and its related academic fields. Moreover, the study addresses several challenges that could influence the future progression of Korean Studies in Italian higher education, proposing strategic solutions to overcome these obstacles.
