The contribution provide some observations and working hypotheses, rather than conclusive reflections, on two complex topics: the Shoah in the Easter-central Europe and its representation in cultural products. In particular, we will focus on three elements: the macro-area of Central and Southeastern Europe as an often ignored landscape in Holocaust history; the complexity of the memory of communism, often contrasted with that of the Shoah; and finally, the importance of deconstructing the cultural product to avoid misunderstanding its meaning.

Abstract
The contribution provide some observations and working hypotheses, rather than conclusive reflections, on two complex topics: the Shoah in the Easter-central Europe and its representation in cultural products. In particular, we will focus on three elements: the macro-area of Central and Southeastern Europe as an often ignored landscape in Holocaust history; the complexity of the memory of communism, often contrasted with that of the Shoah; and finally, the importance of deconstructing the cultural product to avoid misunderstanding its meaning.File in questo prodotto:
