Abstract

That peculiar form of paraconsistent logic which is dialetheism intends to support the existence, in particular circumstances, of ‘true contradictions’, that is to say situations in which the principle of non-contradiction is both valid and invalid. The paper takes into consideration a thesis that, starting from the dialeteistic position and the concept of ‘non-exclusive negation’, believes the defense of the principle of non-contradiction a petitio principii. Once shown the li- mits of a certain interpretation concerning Ritornare a Parmenide’s sixth paragraph, dedicated to the aristotelian élenchos, here are the reasons why even the dialetheistic denial, just to be that meaning which actually is, it is annulled as negation and homologated to the affirmation of the principle.
