Lettura di «Inamoramento de Orlando» I, II

The reading emphasizes the "mediocris" character of the “canto”, both in terms of measure and the themes addressed, which are those typical of the poem, weapons and love. Structurally, the love theme is set between an initial duel and the final joust and mainly stages the paladin Orlando and the changes in him caused by love. The other two parts are more formulaic, and especially the second, in which the real protagonist becomes Astolfo, a pleasant but loyal braggart. The stylistic rendering now appears very personal, as emerges from the analysis of the metric-prosodic, rhetorical, linguistic, lexical characters, often marked by an iterative use that goes back to the “cantari”.

La lettura sottolinea il carattere “mediocris” del canto, sia per misura che per i temi affrontati, che sono quelli tipici del poema, le armi e l’amore. Strutturalmente il tema amoroso è incastonato fra un duello iniziale e la giostra finale e mette in scena soprattutto il paladino Orlando e i cambiamenti in lui provocati dall’amore. Più formulari le altre due parti, e specie la seconda, nella quale il vero protagonista diventa Astolfo, simpatico ma leale sbruffone. La resa stilistica appare ormai molto personale, come emerge dall’analisi dei caratteri metrico-prosodici, retorici, linguistici, lessicali, spesso marcati da un uso iterativo che rimonta alle origini canterine del poema.
