"El cuerpo negro de la poesía. Voz y resistencia de las mujeres afroperuanas entre siglo XX y siglo XXI"

In this essay, we investigate the Afro-descendant Peruvian poetry written by women, within the framework of the resistance to break with the literary canon. We propose a journey that goes from the experience of the poet and performer Victoria Santa Cruz ("Me gritaron ¡negra!", 1960), and the crucial cultural alliance with her brother Nicomedes Santa Cruz, to the most recent feminist approaches of the poet and singer Mónica Carrillo Zegarra ("Unícroma", 2007). The aim is to analyse the aesthetic and political strategies through which these artists have tried to free themselves from the stigma of victimization and re-signify the body of the black woman in the history of the African diaspora in Latin America.
