The paper considers the history of Imera from the beginning of the 6th century starting with a well-known epigraphic document, the so-called agrarian law. The nature and framing of the document in relation to the topographical, social and political structure of the city is discussed, with particular attention to the role that descendants of the first founders may have played in it.

Abstract
