The paper analyses the tradition of epithets attributed to the Diadochi by pro-Agonid voices. A reflection on each of the epithets used is proposed, with a specific focus on the tradition relating to Agathocles. The appellation of nesiarchos is analysed both in its tradition within the island's power figures and in the construction of the historiography relating to the character, with particular attention to Durides of Samos.
