Abstract
The work is focused on the use of a laccase-lig system to obtain value-added end products from kraft and organosolv lignins. The samples are carefully characterized before and after each step of treatment, and the generated low molecular weight products are identified and quantified. The phenolic to aliphatic OH groups ratio plays a crucial role in determining the pathway of the catalytic process. Specifically, a high concentration of phenolic OHs causes a prevalence of oxidative coupling reactions, while a higher content of aliphatic OHs results in a clear depolymerization process.File in questo prodotto:
