The paper presents an interdisciplinary research between architectural history and structural engineering on a reinforced concrete hyperbolic cooling tower in Porto Marghera. It investigates the historical origin of the design, the relationship between form and function, and even the aesthetical aspect that these structures elicited in many modern architects. The research encompassed a photogrammetric survey and the creation of a 3D model from a point cloud, in order to perform geometric and structural analyses.

Abstract
The paper presents an interdisciplinary research between architectural history and structural engineering on a reinforced concrete hyperbolic cooling tower in Porto Marghera. It investigates the historical origin of the design, the relationship between form and function, and even the aesthetical aspect that these structures elicited in many modern architects. The research encompassed a photogrammetric survey and the creation of a 3D model from a point cloud, in order to perform geometric and structural analyses.File in questo prodotto:
