Le indagini in corso presso la sponda orientale del porto fluviale di Aquileia

This paper illustrates preliminary results of archaeological investigations (still in progress) carried out by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice along the eastern riverbank of the fluvial harbor of Aquileia, in the area of the so-called “ex fondo Sandrigo”. Interesting data have been brought into light, especially by excavations in sondages 3, 5 and 8 located in the ancient river bed. Data help us to understand the mode and timing of the demise of the river harbor and of its subsequent reoccupation.
