Le attività del recupero del Ministero

The contribution examines the operations to recover heritage stolen or illicitly disposed of during the Second World War. The text presents the activities of the Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives Sub-commission, which was responsible for approving the delegations and inspectorates entrusted to Italian personalities. The activities were characterised by an initial overlapping of competences, referable at least to the Italy of the lieutenancy. The role was initially taken on by Lionello Venturi, with the task of establishing relations in Rome with the Allied Commission, with local and ecclesiastical authorities, with the liberation troops and with international bodies.
