Editorial: Metaphor in Contemporary Communication: Linguistic, Semiotic and Translational Perspectives

This special issue of the International Journal of Language Studies comprises papers based on presentations given at the International Conference Metaphor in Contemporary Communication: Linguistic, Semiotic and Translational Perspectives organized as part of a project financed by the Department of Humanities of Università IULM (Milan), coordinated by Giuliana Garzone. The main focus is on the use of metaphors in contemporary communication, both from the viewpoint of their constitutive elements and the dynamic relationship among them and that of their deployment and function in discourse.
