This paper outlines the apocalyptic horizon of the history contained in Heidegger’s Black Notebooks. The great theme of Being and Time; being-towards-death, is transferred to history while Heidegger looks towards the end. This is one of the great novelties of the Black Notebooks where the issue of the revolution has always been conceived of in overly metaphysical terms as a simple twist and not as an event, while some interesting reflections on communism emerge.
