La storia e l'eterno. Gustavo Bontadini e il problematicismo storico-filosofico

The aim of this article is to show how Gustavo Bontadini’s reflections have overcome philosophical and historical problematicism. This philosophical approach, whose major exponent was Eugenio Garin, was born during the Fifties and still marks a significant part of the academic landscape today. Bontandini’s proposal will be analyzed by moving from critics to contents and methodology of secularist historiography, whose most radical outcome is the dissolution of philosophy into historical knowledge. This approach suggests that we frame philosophy’s historical development not historically, but speculatively, therefore intending to go beyond specific configurations of contemporary problematicism, in both historical and theoretical domains.
