Physical rehabilitation of oncological patients is essential for early social and work reintegration, as well as being a specific request by the Oeci (European organization of cancer institutes) and Eusoma (European society of breast cancer). The “Irccs” (Istituto di ricovero e cura a carattere scientifico) “Cro” (Centro di riferimento oncologico) in Aviano declares that support for physical and psychological rehabilitation as well as support for family members is one of the principles of the Institute. Until 2018 the Institute did not offer a physical rehabilitative path, due to the absence of a physiatrist and a physiotherapist, and because over 50% of patients came from outside the region, and went back immediately after the oncological treatment. The paper analyzes the implementation of the rehabilitative path at the Irccs Cro in Aviano. In doing so, it examines the various steps, in terms of resources, costs and timing, with a focus on the characteristics of the Institute and the co-production processes.
