The aim of this paper is to investigate one of the most disturbing topic of the novel "Pedro Páramo", the one of death. We start from the assumption that in the novel death is not only a physical and a mythical matter of fact, but also an entity, a place of enunciation. For this reason, all the characters in the novel are obliged to deal with it and to act their own resistance. Therefore, beyond a fatalistic view of the Mexican life and death, maybe the only novel by Juan Rulfo is able to show us another path: the one of the ethical responsibilities toward the Other.

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to investigate one of the most disturbing topic of the novel "Pedro Páramo", the one of death. We start from the assumption that in the novel death is not only a physical and a mythical matter of fact, but also an entity, a place of enunciation. For this reason, all the characters in the novel are obliged to deal with it and to act their own resistance. Therefore, beyond a fatalistic view of the Mexican life and death, maybe the only novel by Juan Rulfo is able to show us another path: the one of the ethical responsibilities toward the Other.File in questo prodotto:
