In the 1990s, Brazil experiences relative economic stability. The ease of access to credit and they incorporate increased consumption into the population's day-to-day life. However, if poorly managed, this relationship may need to be more friendly, bringing difficulties to the consumer when controlling the credit supply to the personal budget. And how does this relationship of consumption among the undergraduate public? The objective of this article is to verify the behavior of the students in the Management course of the School of Management and Business of the Federal University of Uberlandia (UFU), regarding personal finances and consumption profile. Methodologically, we adopted quantitative research, of descriptive type, with data obtained through the application of a questionnaire sent by institutional e-mail, with 28 questions, in a sample of 800 students. The results showed that most of the students surveyed indicated that they know their income and know how to handle their personal finances. The students also have good planning skills, few have good planning skills, and few go through financial problems because of uncontrolled consumption. Among the results, we noticed that most of the interviewed students usually pay for their purchases in cash or by credit card and make purchases planned, with their monthly expenses under control.
