The contribution aims at exploring the relationship between parental education of minors and consumer education under consumer law in the light of the principle of private education and the principle of subsidiarity. A current reading of consumer education is provided, including not only legal-economic elements, but also the dimension of environmental protection, sustainability and digital. The child must be provided with every tool to face the imminent economic-social evolutions, which accentuate the inherent risks in their behaviour, especially during adolescence. The parent’s role must be to educate the child to enable them to adequately face these challenges.
