Further notes on Mongolic elements in Uyghur-Uriankhay (Tuhan)

Tuhan is a severely endangered Sayan Turkic language presently spoken by a handful of old speakers and semi-speakers in the county of Tsagaan Üür in northern Mongolia’s East Khövsgöl region. Tuhan belongs to the Sayan branch of Northeastern or Siberian Turkic. It thus displays those features that characterize Sayan Turkic as a whole. At the same time, Tuhan holds a very special position within this Siberian group. Besides displaying those typological features that characterize Sayan Turkic as such, and sharing some specific isoglosses with Tofan, Tuhan displays unique lexical and grammatical features that distinguish it from the rest of Sayan Turkic. Moreover, Tuhan holds a special position within Sayan Turkic regarding Mongolic lexical copies. Some Mongolic copies clearly display more archaic features than the rest of Sayan Turkic. This contribution discusses some of such cases.
