From classifier-noun combination to article-name agreement. Some notes on the teaching to Sinophones of Italian as a second language. This paper deals with the acquisition of the article by Sinophone learners. On this topic a number of issues have been outlined by Limonta (2009) and Chiapedi (2010). With this analysis, I would like to contribute to this investigation by highlighting the role of classifiers and of existential constructions in the expression of definitess in Chinese. To this end, I will refer to two generativist models, based on the peculiarities of bare nominals. These investigations are: on the one hand, the typology of nominal system (Chierchia 1998, Cheng & Sybesma 1999, 2005), focused on the contrast between languages which obligatorily mark nouns as singular/plural vs. languages with a generalized use of classifiers, i.e. where numerals cannot directly combine with nouns. On the other hand, I take into account the researches by Ionin et al. (2004), which analyze and develop the afore mentioned nominal system typology with reference to second language article acquisition, based on two universal parameters, [+/-specificity] and [+/- definiteness].

Questo articolo tratta dell’acquisizione dell’articolo da parte di apprendenti sinofoni. Diverse problematiche inerenti questo tema sono state evidenziate da Limonta (2009), Chiapedi (2010). Con la presente analisi vorrei contribuire a tali indagini mettendo in luce il ruolo dei classificatori e delle costruzioni esistenziali nell’espressione della definitezza in cinese. A questo fine farò riferimento a due modelli proposti dagli studi di grammatica generativa, la cui formulazione prende spunto dalle peculiarità del sintagma nominale a determinante zero. Essi sono: da un lato la classificazione tipologica dei sistemi nominali (Chierchia 1998, Cheng e Sybesma 1999, 2005) che oppone lingue con morfologia obbligatoria del singolare/plurale a sistemi con ricorso generalizzato ai classificatori. Dall’altro, la disamina e l’estensione di tale teoria con riferimento all’acquisizione degli articoli in L2 proposta da Ionin et al. (2004), la quale individua due parametri universali [+/-specificity] e [+/- definiteness].
