Las mandarinas del doctor Sanabria: necesidad de la disidencia en "Patria o muerte" de Barrera Tyszka

This work proposes a reading of Barrera Tyszka’s Patria o muerte focused on three aspects: first, the text is considered as a new variant of the dictator novel, in which stands out the absent omnipresence of Chávez; second, doctor Sanabria’s gesture with tangerines is examined as a key in his transformation towards dissident criticism; and, third, some considerations are made about the perspective and meaning of the novel.
