The article presents a model of intercultural communicative competence and its value to analyze and describe the potential critical areas of communication between people with different languages and cultures. A focus will be given on the behavior abilities which can help interlocutors to develop, along with linguistic-communicative abilities, a specific attention to the emotional dimension of communication, strengthening, for example, empathy, active listening, and the relativism of the personal point of view.
