This article gives an overview of the latest insights into climate change available from civil society, policy and research. It brings the different perspectives together to highlight how the climate problem can no longer be considered a mere environmental issue, rather a question of economic development, especially if we consider the historical responsibility of different countries and the forecasted patterns of development of the emerging economies at the world level.
