A complexa relação identitária dos ítalo-brasileiros: estudo da trajetória de um capixaba em Trento

The paper’s central issue is the migration of Brazilian, whose are descendants of Italian migrants, to Italy. It is discussed how, in these Brazilian migrants cases, the identity dynamics evolve a process of self-identification with some (national, ethnic, social) groups and with some cultural practices. The descendents, raised in a migrant cultural space in Brazil, grows as Italian. In the travel to Italy, they discover that their “Italian being” is different of the one they find in their ancestors’ land. Considering the connection between the present reality and the memory of the lived pass, the trajectory of a Trentino descendent which lived in the city of Trento (Italy) will be analyzed.
