bjectives. “Manufacturing intelligence” can be analyzed under different perspectives. The paper will present and discuss the multi-shaped nature of this concept of intelligence identified in the capability to build an adaptive organization, meaning able to project the accumulated knowledge in technological, organizational and social experimenting paths. Methodology. The research project focuses on the analysis of the radical fashion field and is based on the integration of action research and classical qualitative research, with the aim to develop a sustainable action model for the actors in the system. Findings. The study of the dynamics allows to develop a hypothesis of a business model in which manufacturing and lead retail join forces in a development process able to activate knowledge into solutions which are technologically effective and culturally substantial. A model which makes intelligent manufacturing accessible also for the SME. Research Limits. From a methodological point of view the model still needs to be verified in the light of the result of the action research, currently in its conclusive phase. Practical implications. In a global market, the world of “made in Italy” should find new boosts through the proactive observation of the radical fashion niche as a lead market capable to trigger the innovation of the value proposition and project it to the future. Originality of the study. The “lead retailer driven production model” as a path for intelligent manufacturing does not yet exist in academic literature.

Abstract
The “lead retailer driven production model” as a path for intelligent manufacturing does not yet exist in academic literature.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
