This brief contribution provides a reading of a plausible gestural indication re- lated to the character of the prophetess Cassandra in Aeschylus’ Agamemnon. The comparison with the iconographic frontality of a maid depicted upon an Attic red-figure cup from Tarquinia supports and enhances some dramatic and expressive features of the Aeschylean clairvoyant.
