Pedrals is an inimitable voice that represents a remarkable renewal of contemporary Catalan poetry. His poetry is characterized by the extensive use of classical forms like the sonnet, and intensive formalism product of his skillful mastery of verse. He excels in organizing conceptual and verbal word plays following the best Baroque tradition. His linguistic genius, systematic work with the dictionary and the literary tradition allows him to put together with spectacular operations with the common language. The adoption of a metaliterary perspective, and a large paratextual apparatus can be related to his taste for performance. This article reviews three books of the author (Escola italiana, El furgatori i El romanço d'Anna Tirant) with which he has begun the construction of a literary world and read together represent an original metanarrative proposal.
