The Venetian inland, due do its location close to the Venice Lagoon and the Adriatic Sea, and to the anthropogenic pressure, is interested by salinization processes of soil and groundwater. The occurrence of salt water intrusion phenomenon is a known process, due to both natural and anthropogenic factors. The aim of this paper is to give a short overview of the major achievements obtained from hydrogeochemical studies performed across the Venetian coastal area between 2003 and 2008 on about 60 shallow piezometers.
