A kinetic study was carried out on the mesophilic anaerobic digestion of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW) sorted in an industrial plant, source-sorted OFMSW and different mixtures of sewage sludge and separately collected OFMSW. Two kinetic models are used in this study: the first-order and the step-diffusional proposed by the authors. Although the former is simpler to use, the constants of the latter have more general application. © 1991.
