The article deals with the topic of tourist routes in the frame of UNESCO Biosphere Reserves and World Heritage List. The aim is to reconstruct both virtuos processes and aporias that can occur when a tourist route overlaps to a Biosphere Reserve or to a Worl Heritage Site. Both the network of Biosphere Reserves and the World Heritage Sites List are tools to promote the conservation of natural and/or cultural heritage and the territorial governance focused on sustainable development ; besides, they both have positive repercussions in the tourist attractiveness of places. The case studies here considered are two European tourist routes within the frame of UNESCO figures: the track know as “Camí de Cavalls” in the Island of Menorca (Balearic Islands, Spain) and the oenoturistic route “Nuova Strada del Prosecco e Vini dei Colli di Conegliano” (Veneto region, Italy). The case study analysis and comparison testifies that the synergy between tourism (and, in particular, between tourist routes) and UNESCO figures can be multifaceted: it presents many potentialities, but it also involves risks, and it is not, per se, a guarantee of sustainability.

Abstract
The case study analysis and comparison testifies that the synergy between tourism (and, in particular, between tourist routes) and UNESCO figures can be multifaceted: it presents many potentialities, but it also involves risks, and it is not, per se, a guarantee of sustainability.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
