In this contribution I will provide information regarding the Erasmus+ project "Social Haptic Signs for Deaf and Blind in Education", a project for the collection and standardisation of haptic signals in Estonia, Italy, Portugal and Sweden. I will first give a short introduction about social-haptic communication, I will then briefly present the project, and I will provide a general overview of the countries that are already using haptics. I will then focus on the Italian context; finally, I will explain how we are working on social-haptic communication in Italy.
