Abstract

Processes, Products and Waste: Upcycle Approach in Murano Murano and its glass, between art, craftsmanship and industry, are part of the lagoon ecosystem, and the crisis, before the current health emergency, has damaged the proper functioning of this system. In the light of these reasons, a research (POR-FSE) was launched in order to find new possible solutions to valorise the Murano glass supply chain and to identify potential recycling strategies for its waste. Studying Murano glass in the perspectives of both architectural technology and chemistry means bringing attention to several relationships and to new possible process dynamics, in addition to those already existing. At the same time, it means developing different paths to find new manufacturing methods and fields of application.
