This essay analyses the notion of “pedagogy of concept” which Deleuze and Guattari presented for the first time in their book What is Philosophy? I first sketch its development, suggesting some parallels to the notions of “pedagogy of perception” and “pedagogy of cinema”, which Deleuze discusses in the book Image-Time and in “Letter to Serge Daney: Optimism, pessimism, and travel” (in Negotiations). I then try to assert its importance in the more general framework of the work of Deleuze, emphasizing its connection with his constructivist conception of Philosophy and Arts, with his notion of “image of thought”, and with his critique of the doxa and the concept (in its rep- resentational version), these latter seen as instruments of the subordination of difference to the identical.

Abstract
This essay analyses the notion of “pedagogy of concept” which Deleuze and Guattari presented for the first time in their book What is Philosophy? I first sketch its development, suggesting some parallels to the notions of “pedagogy of perception” and “pedagogy of cinema”, which Deleuze discusses in the book Image-Time and in “Letter to Serge Daney: Optimism, pessimism, and travel” (in Negotiations). I then try to assert its importance in the more general framework of the work of Deleuze, emphasizing its connection with his constructivist conception of Philosophy and Arts, with his notion of “image of thought”, and with his critique of the doxa and the concept (in its rep- resentational version), these latter seen as instruments of the subordination of difference to the identical.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
