This chapter deals with the characteristics of scientific-technical language in the field of specialised languages in Spanish. After mentioning the general features, pragmatic and linguistic (lexical and morphosyntactic) aspects of this specialised field will be discussed. In addition, an analysis will be made of how ideas are structured in the scientific-technical field, as well as the process of the formation of new terms. Finally, we will look at some of the most typical types of texts in this specialised language.
