In this chapter we will deal with the translation of scientific-technical language from Spanish into Italian, paying attention to the problems and difficulties that characterise this specialised field. We shall analyse the most appropriate translation methodology and the skills that the scientific-technical translator must develop. In addition, we will also offer some samples of translations of textual genres characteristic of scientific-technical language in order to identify the potential obstacles to the translation process between typologically related languages. Finally, we will offer some guidelines on documentation in the scientific-technical field.

Abstract
