LA LIBERTÀ DI INFORMAZIONE E DI ESPRESSIONE DEL PENSIERO NELL’ERA DELLA DEMOCRAZIA VIRTUALE E DEI GLOBAL SOCIAL MEDIA

This contribute aims to investigate whether, in the contemporary context, in which the democratic process has been acquiring a new morphology thanks to the use of digital platforms as modern agorà for discussion, it can be assumed that there is still effective guarantees of the main essential values. In particular, the analysis will attempt to investigate the main changes carried out by Internet, as well as the risks linked with the new systems of information’s exchange and filtering in online platforms. By analyzing these problems, the paper will try to understand if it is possible to assume that constitutional values still represent today the cornerstone of democracy or if they need new and more effective tools of protection in order to be effectively guaranteed.
