In the context of centenary of Jorge de Sena, dissemination and criticism of poetry and the arts, the general objective of this brief reflection intends to recompose the history of the controversy generated with the publication of “Surrealism, with regard to an exhibition and some related publications”, at Nova Seara, in 1949, among other texts by Jorge de Sena, emphasizing a certain state of awareness about the avant-garde artistic movements, more specifically, surrealism, at that time.

Abstract
