This work intends to analyse the poem “preface to a book of poems”, by Al Berto, relating problems involving literature, space, modernity with the territory of tradition, less observed by contemporary critics. The reading assumes that the poem is located in an intermediate space, between the intensity of emotion that resides in the remains of expressive metaphors from the past, on the one hand, and accuracy, as defined by Italo Calvino, on the other. It is my reading hypothesis that the poem shows a leap towards a collective and ancestral land that protects the lyrical Iberian cultural space.

Abstract
This work intends to analyse the poem “preface to a book of poems”, by Al Berto, relating problems involving literature, space, modernity with the territory of tradition, less observed by contemporary critics. The reading assumes that the poem is located in an intermediate space, between the intensity of emotion that resides in the remains of expressive metaphors from the past, on the one hand, and accuracy, as defined by Italo Calvino, on the other. It is my reading hypothesis that the poem shows a leap towards a collective and ancestral land that protects the lyrical Iberian cultural space.File in questo prodotto:
