The Venetian Lagoon is a unique environment, characterized by an extremely interesting linguistic landscape. In this article, some of the most notable peculiarities of the dialects of Chioggia, Pellestrina, Burano and Grado are commented upon from a geolinguistic and ecolinguistic perspective, thus highlighting complex dynamics of interaction between centre and periphery.
