L’interferenza linguistica nella trasmissione indiretta. Errori di copia ed errori di traduzione nella costellazione catalana del "Devisement du monde"

The aim of this paper is to analyse the phenomenon of interference within a peculiar case of indirect transmission: the ‘Catalan Version’ of Marco Polo’s Devisement du Monde. Once described the caracteristics of the so called ‘K Version’ (K) and of its textual tradition, the paper focuses on two aspects of interference. First, interference between two or more languages in contact, producing a wide range of linguistic and semantic mistakes which are useful to retrace the textual history of K. Second, the interference between the acts of copying and of translating, and the difficult distinction between copying and translating mistakes.
